ALOO SANDWICH

Serves: 4

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 8 – 10 medium sized Aloo / Potatoes
  • 8 – 10 Bread slices (White / Brown / Multi Grain)
  • 1 medium sized Onion finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger grated
  • 4 – 5 Garlic cloves grated
  • 2 Green Chillies finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Kali Mirch / Black Pepper Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking
  • For Garnishing – Cut the Onion into round thin slices

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Boil Aloo in pressure cooker with sufficient water, give 3 – 4 whistles or till Aloo are boiled
  2. Mash boiled Aloo / Potatoes in a bowl, add chopped Onions, Ginger, Garlic, Green Chillies, Red Chilli Powder, Kali Mirch / Black Pepper Powder, Garam Masala, Salt and mix well
  3. Take equal portions of Aloo mix and make round balls (as per the size of the bread) and lightly press from the middle to make the tikki. Similarly make all the tikki’s and keep aside
  4. Heat the oil in Pan / Tawa for shallow fry, cook the tikki’s from both the sides till it is golden brown & crispy, keep aside
  5. Toast breads on the same tawa with little oil or butter from both sides
  6. Take a slice of bread put tikki on it, top it with Onion slices and then top with 2nd slice
  7. Serve hot with Sauce / Ketchup
