Imli Daal with Chawal

IMLI DAL WITH CHAWAL

INGREDIENTS:

For Imli Dal

  • 250 gms Arhar / Toor Dal (Soaked for Half an hour before cooking)
  • 50 gms Imli / Tamarind Pulp (Soaked in 1 cup water for half an hour)
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds / Rai
  • 1 teaspoon Jeera / Cumin Seeds
  • Salt
  • Oil for Cooking

For Rice/Chawal

  • 1 ½ Glass Rice / Chawal
  • Sufficient water for cooking

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

For Imli Dal

  • Put soaked Arhar dal in Cooker, add 4 cups of water, close the lid and give 3 – 4 whistles
  • Heat Oil in a Pan, add Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds and Pour the Imli / Tamarind pulp. Boil for 2 mins
  • Add the Tadka in dal, mix well

For Rice / Chawal

  • Wash & Rinse the Rice, until water is clean
  • Take 4-5 Glasses of Water (Sufficient Water) & boil
  • Add Rice and cook for 8 – 10 mins or till the time rice are cooked
  • Drain the extra water & cover it with the lid & keep aside for 5-7 mins
