Lauki Ki Sabji

LAUKI KI SABJI / BOTTLE GOURD CURRY

Preparation Time: 10 – 12 mins

Cooking Time: 12 – 15 mins

Serves: 4 – 5

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • ½ Kg Lauki / Ghiya / Bottle Gourd (Washed, Peeled & Cut into medium sized pieces)
  • 2 small sized Onions finely chopped
  • 3 medium sized Tomatoes (Grated or finely chopped)
  • ½ teaspoon Red Chilli Powder & ½ teaspoon Kashmiri Mirch for colour
  • ½ teaspoon Haldi / Turmeric Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper / Kali Mirch Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for Cooking

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat oil in Cooker, add Onions, sauté for 3 -4 mins
  2. Add Red Chilli Powder, Kashmiri Mirch, Haldi, Salt & mix well. Then add grated Tomatoes, mix well & cook for 3 – 4 mins on high flame
  3. Add Lauki/Ghiya/Bottle Gourd and cook for 2 – 3 mins, then add little water (according to preference), close the cooker with the upper lid and give 5 – 6 whistles
  4. Add Garam Masala Powder, Black Pepper / Kali Mirch Powder and mix well
  5. Serve Hot with Paratha / Chapati / Roti
