Matar Paneer

MATAR PANEER

Serves: 4

INGREDIENTS:

  • 250 gms Paneer (cut into small square pieces)
  • 300 gms Matar/Green Peas
  • 2 medium sized Onions Grated
  • 4 medium sized Tomatoes Grated
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Kashmiri Mirch Powder (for color)
  • 1 teaspoon Haldi / Turmeric Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Kali Mirch / Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Heat Oil in Kadai, add onions, Ginger & Garlic and sauté till onions are golden brown
  2. Add Red Chilli Powder, Kashmiri Mirch, Haldi / Turmeric Powder, Salt, mix well and add tomatoes & cook till the mixture leaves oil
  3. Add Matar & 2 glasses of water and cover the Kadai with upper lit and cook for 20-25 mins on low flame or till the time Matar/Green Peas are cooked
  4. Add Paneer pieces and cook for 5 mins, add Kali Mirch / Black Pepper Powder & Garam Masala, mix well
  5. Serve Hot with Roti/Paratha
