Moong Dal Paratha

MOONG DAL PARATHA

Serves: 4

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ½ cup Wheat flour
  • 1 cup Moong Dal (Fresh cooked or Leftover of night)
  • 1 medium sized Onion chopped
  • 2 -3 Green Chillis chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dhaniya / Coriander Seeds crushed
  • ½ teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper / Kali Mirch Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil / Desi Ghee for cooking

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add Wheat flour, Moong Dal, Onions, Green Chillies, Dhaniya / Coriander Seeds, Red Chilli Powder, Black Pepper, Garam Masala, Salt and mix well
  2. Add sufficient Water and knead into a soft dough
  3. Take small portions of dough & make a round ball like roti, On rolling board, roll out thinly into a Paratha and spread little oil over the Paratha. Lift the dough from one side & again lift the dough from other side (will look like a Square/triangle), roll out again into a Paratha (use dry wheat flour whenever required)
  4. Heat tawa and place the Paratha on it, when one side is slightly browned, flip the paratha, spread little Ghee and flip it again & spread the ghee on the other side and well cook from both sides till its golden brown & crispy
  5. Serve hot with Butter, Tea, Curd & Pickle
