Parawal Ki Sabzi

PARAWAL KI SABZI

Recipe Type: Lunch / Dinner / Side Dish

Preparation Time: 10 – 15 mins

Cooking Time:  20 – 25 mins

Serves: 4

INGREDIENTS:

  • ½ Kg Parawal / Pointed gourd (Peel/Scratch lit bit with knife so that it is cleaned)
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric / Haldi Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Kali Mirch / Black Pepper Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Amchoor
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Wash the Parawals well & cut into two pieces from middle (lengthwise)
  2. Heat oil in a Pan/Kadai, once the oil is Luke warm (so that spices are not burnt), add Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Salt, Parawal pieces, mix well and cook for 20-25 mins on low flame or till the time Parawals are well cooked
  3. Add Kali Mirch / Black Pepper Powder, Garam Masala, Amchoor & mix well
  4. Serve hot with Roti/Paratha
  5. OPTIONAL: You can add Aloo/Potatoes (2 medium sized cut into big pieces lengthwise) at the time of adding Parawals.
