ALOO MAKHANA CHAAT (NAVRATRI SPECIAL)

Ingredients

Aloo medium sized 2
Sweet Potato / Shakarkandi medium sized 2
Makhana / Fox Nuts 1 cup
Sendha Namak/ Rock Salt to taste
Roasted Jeera Powder 3/4 teaspoon
Kali Mirch / Black Pepper Powder 3/4 teaspoon
Oil/ Desi Ghee for Cooking
Lemon 1

Directions

  1. Potatoes : Wash & cut the Potatoes in small pieces or diced size pieces, heat little oil in Pan and cook the Potatoes on high flame for 2 mins and then on low flame till the Potatoes are cooked
  2. Sweet Potato: Wash the Sweet Potatoes properly and keep them on Tawa, cook the Shakarkandi on low flame for 15-20 mins (as this tastes similar like market shakarkandi). Keep checking it and change the sides. Then cut them in small pieces
  3. Makhana – Heat 1-2 tablespoon Desi Ghee/Oil in Kadai, add Makana and roast them till they are crispy. Keep stirring so that the Makhan’s are not burnt, Spread little Sendha Namak, mix well
  4. Take Bowl, add Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes pieces, add Jeera Powder, Kali Mirch / Black Pepper Powder, Sendha Namak, Lemon Juice, mix well and add Makhana while serving so that the Makhana’s doesn’t get soggy.
