CHANA DAL KA PARATHA

Ingredients

Chana Dal (Washed Properly & Soaked for 30 mins) 1 cup
Green Chillis chopped 2-3
Fresh Coriander leaves finely chopped
Red Chilli Powder 3/4 teaspoon
Black Pepper / Kali Mirch Powder 3/4 teaspoon
Garam Masala Powder 3/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil / Desi Ghee for cooking
For Dough – 2 ½ cups of wheat flour & needed water

Directions

  1. For Dough – Take wheat flour in a big bowl & add sufficient Water and knead into a soft dough (Same as we make for Chapati or Roti)
  2. For Stuffing – Take Chana Dal in cooker with 2 cup Water & little salt and give 3 whistles (don’t open the cooker till the steam is there).
  3. Drain extra water from the Dal.
  4. Take bowl, add Chana Dal, Fresh Coriander leaves, Green Chillies, Red Chilli Powder, Black Pepper, Garam Masala, Salt and mix well
  5. Take small portions of dough & make a round ball like roti, On rolling board, roll out thinly into a circle and spread little oil / ghee over it, keep sufficient stuffing (with spoon or hand) in the middle of the circle, Lift the dough from all the sides to cover the stuffing (like a round), roll out again into a Paratha (use dry wheat flour whenever required)
  6. Heat tawa and place the Paratha on it, when one side is slightly browned, flip the paratha, spread little Ghee and flip it again & spread the ghee on the other side and well cook from both sides till its golden brown & crispy
  7. Serve hot with Butter, Tea, Curd & Pickle
